Parent and Child Climbing

Parent and Child Climbing sessions will be running during the school holidays.

Parent and child climbing sessions give parents without climbing experience the opportunity to belay for their children under the expert supervision of Alter Rock instructors. These sessions will allow children, usually confined to the bouldering wall the chance to get on the roped climbs.

No need to book, just call in at any time between 12 and 4pm and an instructor will be floating around the centre offering help to whoever needs it. Each adult is able to supervise up to two children.

These sessions will run on weekdays between:

Monday 13th - Friday 17th February

£10 per child (including all kit hire)

At Alter Rock it does not matter if you are a beginner, intermediate or an old hand... there is something for everyone

To get you going, take a beginners indoor climbing course to allow you to climb at any time. If you can already climb safely then standard entry costs £7.50 any time for as long as you like or for £4.00 you can climb for an hour when entering between 12 – 2pm on weekdays.

Bring your children to the Junior or Youth climbing clubs where instruction is delivered by qualified staff or book a private lesson at any time that suits you.

How about a birthday party with a difference, climb for an hour and have party food afterwards?

Enjoy the company of others?.... then come along to Friendly Fridays where you will meet other climbers who are perhaps new to the scene or old hands who like to share their experiences.

Finally for local climbing clubs there are discounts where the club members enter at a reduced rate on set nights.
