An Alter Rock party is a great way to celebrate your child's birthday. Not only will it be great fun but it will also get your children active and will hopefully tire them out too.

Birthday parties usually consist of an hour's climbing session, during this time all of the children will get the chance to climb on both the bouldering wall and the roped climbs, putting their trust in their friends (and our instructors) to belay them and keep them safe. We have routes for everyone regardless of their age or ability.

The finale to the party is Bell Ringing, this activity is perhaps the most exhilarating and certainly most team oriented. One team member is clipped to the end of a rope, the rest of the team tag the other end of the rope and pull. The climber ascends the wall steadily. The team then lower the climber together, to ensure a steady descent.

As an added bonus the birthday boy or girl will also receive a voucher for a free Junior Climbing Club session worth £9. We will take a photo of the group during the party in all their climbing gear and send it via email to you so that it can be shared on your favourite social networking sites.

Participant Numbers: Maximum 24, Minimum 6 (per session)

Days and Times: Saturday and Sunday 1:00 - 4:00 pm

Age: 7 years upwards

Price: £10.00 each including all equipment (for one hour). 

Participants are not required to be registered with Alter Rock, however they or a guardian must read and understand the BMC participation statement (this can be found on all of our group booking forms).

Food:

The mezzanine floor from where you can see the whole of the climbing area is the ideal place to set up the food for your child's birthday party. We do not prepare food on site, however we work closely Old Mill Catering who can provide a great party menu for your group for just £4.75 per head. You simply collect a menu and booking form from Alter Rock and then give Old Mill Catering a call to arrange your food. Your party food is delivered fresh to us on the day of your booking and we will set up the tables and food whilst the birthday party is taking place.

You are also welcome to bring your own food along and we will be more than happy to set up the tables on the mezzanine floor area for you to use for a nominal charge of £1 per child.
