From Monday August 9^th 2010 Alter Rock will begin construction of a brand new fin that will see a column built down the centre of the church incorporating an additional 28 roped climbing lines. The construction work should be complete by Monday September 6^th and routes will have been set in time for our annual competition on the 11^th (see competitions page for details).

This addition will more than double the number of roped climbing lines from 26 – 54 in the space of just three weeks.

There will be a range of angles on the new wall including both vertical and overhanging climbing and for the first time at Alter Rock a slab, which we hope will add yet another dimension to your climbing experience.

As you might expect everyone here at Alter Rock is very excited about this new climbing area and we are eagerly anticipating the end result.
