Additional Climbing Support – Disabilities and SEN

Special Educational Needs (SEN)

We run regular groups for special needs children and can arrange private small groups for anyone who wants extra support.

We can provide a fun session to give SEN children a chance to try climbing, provide one to one tuition to help you improve or run a session for those who are just more comfortable working in a smaller group.

We run regular sessions for special needs kids in and around Derby.

These sessions can be booked at any time.

Alter Rock provides Additional Support sessions. The aim of these sessions is to provide climbing activities for children with learning difficulties or physical disabilities with the aid of our experienced staff. At Alter Rock, we believe that climbing should be available to anyone who wants to try it. Able bodied or not, there is something for you.

Our building is fully wheelchair accessible with disabled facilities and friendly understanding staff.

We are happy to see disabled children and young adults. Below is a video showing instructor Anita helping young visually impaired climber Leanne. She is now climbing single colour routes after regular sessions here.

Please note booking is essential, please let us know of any wheelchair users when booking.

Just call 01332 367 200 or email questions@alter-rock.co.uk if you have any questions.
